The BMCA Story

The Bangalore Malayalee Catholic Association (BMCA) is an organization that focuses on fostering community life, unity, and support among Malayalee Catholics in Bangalore. Our primary objectives and key activities are deeply rooted in serving the spiritual, social, cultural, and educational needs of our members and the broader community.

We strive to promote unity and solidarity among the Malayalee Catholic Community in Bangalore, building fellowship and friendship among members while working towards the overall development and welfare of all.

Fostering Unity & Fellowship

A core objective is to foster unity and solidarity among the Malayalee Catholic Community in Bangalore. This includes building fellowship and friendship among members.

Community Building

The association aims to promote a vibrant community life among Malayalee Christians in Bangalore, providing a platform for social, cultural, and spiritual interaction.

Holistic Development

BMCA strives to cater to the spiritual, social, cultural, and educational needs of its members. This involves promoting religious, social, educational, and cultural activities and working towards the overall development of its members.

Mutual Support & Welfare

The association functions as a source of assistance and support to fellow members, especially helping the poor, sick, and needy. It also aims to improve the lives of its members and the wider society, extending a helping hand, for example, in Kerala and Karnataka. Members are encouraged to contribute to help the needy.

Preservation of Culture & Values

BMCA works to preserve the traditional values and culture of Malayalee Catholics and instill Christian values among its members, particularly the youth.

Leadership Development & Member Engagement

A significant objective is to encourage young leadership and active member participation, including inviting new members, especially the "sons and daughters" of existing members, to join and serve on committees. The youth wing specifically aims to foster leadership and service among young members.

Organizational Growth & Stability

The BMCA seeks to strengthen its organization and expand its membership, adapting its operations and activities to meet the evolving needs of its members over time. A long-term goal included acquiring and developing its own office building.

  • Monthly Sector Meetings with structured agenda
  • Management Committee (MC) holds regular meetings
  • Annual General Meetings (AGM) for organizational matters

Cultural and Social Events

  • Annual cultural programs (Onam, Christmas, Sports Day)
  • Occasions for celebration, felicitation, feasts
  • Quarterly Holy Masses for spiritual nourishment

Community Welfare and Support

  • Small and large projects at sector and central levels
  • Assistance and support to the poor, sick, and needy

Communication and Information

  • Quarterly bulletin and BMCV Newsletter
  • Souvenir Cum Members' Directory publication

Membership and Sector Management

  • Recruiting new members (life and permanent)
  • Reorganizing and reactivating sectors

Infrastructure Development

  • Completing permanent office building
  • Obtaining necessary permits and connections

Collaboration and Partnerships

  • Collaborates with other organizations
  • Associates with projects of Archbishop of Bangalore

Youth and Women's Engagement

  • Ladies Wing and Youth Wing for active participation
  • Instilling Christian values and leadership qualities

Financial Management

  • Raises funds through member contributions, ads
  • Maintains responsible financial management
